6ix pack training

Everyone has dreamed about six pack when going on the beach. Hoping that had done a couple of more sets of sit-ups or skipped some beers. But how many of you have ever trained your stomach muscles? Be honest. If you answered yes, then repeat what Nalle Parmonen did.

It started in July 15th with 500 situps reaching total of 10k in two weeks. One day rest every week. Number of daily sit-ups and twists increased week after week. In the middle of August a long weekend, from Friday to Monday, counted 23k in total in four days. On average that’s almost 6000 per day. Then there was a business trip and a well deserved rest for two days. Next long weekend, from Thursday to Sunday, was a real killer with 35k situps and twists. Friday counted for 10k and Saturday for 12k. In total that’s 100k situps and twists in total in 40 days!!!

Nalle situps and twists 100k
Take a challenge and beat that if you think you have stomach muscles. And remember to use 35 kg for situps and 40 kg for twists as seen in the photos. But be warned that it is not going to be easy and there is a great danger for injury if you are not in good fit. After 2 weeks Nalle is still recovering Winking

Junior training seminar
Two excellent seminars were arranged during the Junior Championships. First Ville Sistonen and Harri Valasma told about what does it require for a junior player to become a professional player. And later Heke Mustonen demonstrated dozens of technique and moving exercises when his coach Ville Sistonen explained the essentials of each exercise. With EX-FH20 you can shoot photos in high speed i.e. 40 frames in a second with 7 megapixel resolution. Even more useful feature is high speed video which enables you to capture video 7 times faster (210 fps) than normal video using resolution (480 x 360) that is suitable for detailed analysis of your squash technique and movement. See Movies section for examples of slow motion videos e.g. Lahti Open’s matchball and Harri Valasma’s drop shots.
